How we make money

Free to you, and honest about why

A site that publishes loan data should be transparent about its own money. Ours is simple, and it is walled off from the editorial side.

Where revenue comes from

Loans Advisor is supported by advertising and, in time, by clearly labeled partner placements — for example, a rate table marked "Advertiser Disclosure." Some links may earn a commission when a reader takes an action. That is what keeps the calculators free and the data flowing, with no paywall and no account required.

The firewall

Money never touches the numbers. An advertiser cannot buy a lower rate on our tables, a better score in a review, a higher spot in a list, or a softer warning on a risky product. Our benchmark rates come from the Federal Reserve and Freddie Mac and would read exactly the same with no advertisers at all. Where a placement is paid, it is labeled; where a recommendation is ours, it is independent.

What we will not do

We do not sell your data, we do not require an application to see a number, and we do not dress advertising up as editorial. The payday loans page is the clearest proof of the firewall: we tell you plainly that the product is among the most expensive credit available, because the numbers say so.

This page is part of our commitment under the editorial policy. Questions? Get in touch.
